Nerds - Sandyballs, Lafayette, Philby, B.T. (Le Nouveau Hardcore)

The Birthday Ramble



Froggy was away doing a bit of male bonding with his mate, Nicky in Bognor, and moves were afoot to entice Sally into the Nerds as a substitute so that Sandyballs would get at least one decent present on his birthday. No such luck, however, so we all sat around drinking Bucks Fizz and watching the rain thrashing against the window.

At last our leader voiced the unspoken thoughts of us all. “It’s obviously far too wet to go on a ramble so, er, what about if we just get a taxi down to Lewes and have lunch?” This sensible suggestion was endorsed by everyone, and so……. That;s what we did.

We first had a pint in the Crown where Lafayette was introduced to the Wrinkled Old Slapper from whom Sandyballs had been saved the previous month. Needless to say S.B. remembered nothing at all about this sordid incident and Lafayette was not impressed with this particular choice of slapperdom.

The Nerds then split up; B.T. and Lafayette going to the wine bar for a bit of sophisticated conversation; Philby going to a bookshop for a bit of culture and Sandyballs remaining in the Crown to presumably cement his friendship with the you know who.

Eventually everyone met up in the Brewers Arms where we wrote a few pornographic postcards to Bubbles and had the off half.

Things then degenerated and dim memories come back of proceeding to the Gardeners, The Snowdrop, and the John Harvey where Mrs Slappercontrived to be found again. (It really must have been true love).



So, after a lot of boozing and not a lot of rambling things came to a close that day. Thanks to Sandyballs for the fizzy birthday party and for making the right executive decision about how to spend the rest of the day.
